Nigeria LNG Limited (NLNG) has been awarded the title of “Most Compliant Taxpayer” by the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS) during the 2024 FIRS Day at the Lagos International Trade Fair. This prestigious award is part of the FIRS Compliant Taxpayer Award and Recognition Programme, which celebrates companies that consistently fulfill their tax obligations, fostering Nigeria’s economic development.
The recognition follows NLNG’s earlier achievement in 2021, when it received the FIRS Most Supportive Taxpayer Award for outstanding tax compliance, contributing to FIRS surpassing its collection goals. In a statement, FIRS lauded NLNG’s exemplary adherence to tax laws, underscoring the company’s critical role in national growth.
Titi Horsfall, Head of Editorial and Digital Content at NLNG, accepted the award on behalf of the company. Commenting on the achievement, NLNG’s Managing Director and CEO, Dr. Philip Mshelbila, highlighted the award’s significance as NLNG celebrates its 35th year of incorporation and the 25th anniversary of LNG production in Nigeria.
“This award underscores our unwavering commitment to Nigeria’s development,” said Dr. Mshelbila. “It is a testament to the dedication of our Board, management, and staff in maintaining NLNG’s reputation as a responsible corporate entity.”
Dr. Mshelbila further emphasized that NLNG’s commitment to compliance aligns with its mission to be a global energy leader, advancing Nigeria’s energy sector and driving sustainable economic progress through responsible business practices.
