Dangote Cement Plc is set to launch a multi-million naira skills development centre in Lokoja, Kogi State, as part of its ongoing commitment to youth empowerment and regional economic growth.
The project, spearheaded by Dangote Group President Aliko Dangote in collaboration with the Kogi State government, is expected to be completed in the coming months. According to a statement from the company’s Corporate Communications Department, the centre will equip young Nigerians with essential skills, promoting job creation and supporting Nigeria’s industrialization efforts.
Azad Nawabuddin, Plant Director at Dangote Cement, Obajana, stated that the initiative is a key part of the company’s corporate social responsibility (CSR) program. He also highlighted other CSR efforts, including the construction of Nigeria’s longest concrete road, healthcare facilities, and essential infrastructure in host communities.
“Dangote Cement remains committed to the development of our host communities, and this centre will play a crucial role in empowering the youth and fostering sustainable development,” Nawabuddin said, underscoring the company’s significant investment in social and economic progress.
