The FCMB SheVentures Mentoring Programme, in partnership with NECA’s Network of Entrepreneurial Women (NNEW), has successfully graduated 215 women entrepreneurs in its 11th cohort.
A virtual graduation ceremony recently celebrated the completion of the six-week initiative, which aims to equip women with critical business skills, market access, and networking opportunities.
Participants received mentorship in five key areas: strategic management, financial management, operations, sales and marketing, and human resources. The programme featured masterclasses by industry experts, one-on-one mentorship sessions, and sector-focused discussions to enhance entrepreneurial expertise.
Empowering Women for Economic Growth
NNEW President Mrs. Adefunke Kuyoro commended the mentees for their resilience, stating, “This graduation marks the start of a new chapter where these women will make impactful contributions to the economy.”
In her keynote address, FCMB’s Head of Women Banking, Mrs. Nnenna Jagogo-Jack, reiterated the bank’s commitment to empowering women entrepreneurs. “We encourage graduates to implement the lessons learned to scale their businesses,” she said.
Key Insights and Collaboration
Dr. Yemisi Adeyeye, Managing Director and Co-founder of Lifefount Hospital, delivered a lecture on “Investment Readiness for Business Owners,” stressing the importance of strategic planning, financial record-keeping, and mentorship in securing investments.
Project Director Mrs. Eniola Mayowa praised the collaborative effort behind the programme, highlighting its role in fostering practical skills and confidence among participants. “This initiative underscores the power of community and knowledge-sharing in driving entrepreneurial growth,” she said.
Certificates and New Beginnings
Certificates were presented by Pastor Kemisola T’Oluwanimi, Head of NNEW Academy, who urged graduates to leverage their newfound skills and networks to grow their businesses and contribute to societal development.
“This programme exemplifies FCMB’s dedication to supporting women entrepreneurs through financial solutions, capacity-building initiatives, and access to vital networks, creating a robust ecosystem for business success,” the statement concluded
