The General Overseer of Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries (MFM), Prof. Daniel Olukoya, has emphasized prayer as a critical solution to Nigeria’s socio-economic challenges. He made the statement on Saturday during the 34th and 35th convocation ceremonies of the Federal University of Technology, Akure (FUTA).
Speaking to journalists after receiving an honorary doctoral degree in Management from the university, Olukoya described prayer as the ultimate tool to tackle any problem, urging Nigerians to seek divine intervention in the face of mounting challenges.
“There is only one weapon that can kill any problem—it is prayer,” Olukoya said. “No matter how strong it is, prayer can dismantle any issue. What we need in Nigeria is divine intervention. Let God intervene in what we are doing because divine intervention surpasses human reasoning.”
Olukoya, who is also the proprietor of Mountain Top University, highlighted the financial strain on higher education institutions due to rising energy costs. He noted that many schools, including church-owned universities, have been forced to increase tuition fees, making education unaffordable for some families.
“To run a university on generators costs a lot of money. In our institution, most of the funds are spent on diesel. We are only now transitioning to solar energy,” he revealed.
The cleric’s remarks underscore the intersection of spiritual solutions and practical challenges in addressing Nigeria’s pressing issues.
