The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) and oil marketers have solidified a partnership to ensure uninterrupted distribution of petroleum products during and after the festive Yuletide season.
This was disclosed by Dr. Joseph Obele, National Public Relations Officer of the Petroleum Retail Operators Association of Nigeria (PETROAN), following a meeting on Friday between PETROAN’s National President, Dr. Billy Gillis-Harry, and the NNPCL Group Chief Executive Officer, Mele Kyari, in Abuja.
Strategic Discussions for National Fuel Supply
The meeting focused on strategies for effective collaboration between NNPCL and PETROAN to guarantee seamless fuel distribution nationwide during the peak travel season.
Dr. Obele described the meeting as a significant step toward ensuring a hitch-free holiday fuel supply.
Recognition for Mele Kyari
As a highlight of the event, PETROAN presented Kyari with an award, recognizing him as an honorary life council member of PETROAN and the most productive GMD/GCEO in NNPCL’s history.
Dr. Gillis-Harry praised Kyari’s leadership, particularly his efforts in resuscitating the Port Harcourt Refinery and fostering growth in Nigeria’s petroleum industry.
“The strategic meeting was very successful, with critical matters on effective collaboration discussed. The high point was honoring the GCEO for his remarkable contributions to the sector,” PETROAN stated.
The partnership underscores a shared commitment to addressing supply challenges and ensuring stability in Nigeria’s energy sector during the holiday season.
