BUA Foods, IMAS to Build Four Flour Mills with 3,200 TPD Capacity

BUA Foods Plc has entered into a significant agreement with Turkish flour milling equipment manufacturer IMAS to construct four state-of-the-art wheat and flour milling factories. The new facilities will have a combined milling capacity of 3,200 tonnes per day, marking a major expansion in BUA Foods’ production capabilities.

In a statement released on Tuesday, Adewunmi Desalu, Director of Marketing and Corporate Communications at BUA Foods, highlighted that this initiative aligns with the company’s strategic expansion plans following its recent listing on the Nigerian Exchange. The new factories are expected to enhance manufacturing capacity, enabling BUA Foods to produce higher volumes of quality flour products, thereby contributing to efforts to tackle food security challenges in Nigeria.

The agreement was formalized during a signing ceremony on Tuesday, attended by senior executives from both BUA Foods and IMAS. Speaking at the event, Abdul Samad Rabiu, Chairman of BUA Foods Plc, emphasized the importance of the partnership in boosting Nigeria’s food security. “This collaboration with IMAS demonstrates our commitment to improving food security in Nigeria. These new factories will significantly enhance our capacity to produce high-quality flour products, while also creating additional job opportunities across the country,” Rabiu stated.

He further noted that the investment is a key step toward increasing BUA Foods’ market share in the Nigerian flour industry. “With the addition of these four mills, we will be able to offer greater flexibility in meeting the diverse needs of the flour market,” Rabiu added.

Vice President of IMAS, Mustafa Ozdemir, also expressed his enthusiasm for the project, stating, “We at IMAS are pleased to support BUA Foods in their expansion efforts, which aim to ensure that more people across Africa have access to affordable and nutritious food.”
