London, UK – In a remarkable achievement for English football, Manchester City’s Phil Foden and Chelsea’s Cole Palmer have been crowned the winners of the PFA Player of the Year and Young Player of the Year awards, respectively. This is the first time since the 2009-2010 season that both prestigious awards have been claimed by English players.
Foden, who delivered an outstanding performance with 19 goals in 35 Premier League appearances, played a pivotal role in Manchester City’s historic fourth consecutive league title. At just 23 years old, Foden also set a new benchmark, becoming the youngest player to have won six league titles. This accolade marks Foden’s first PFA Player of the Year award, adding to his previous triumphs as Best Young Player, which he secured twice in earlier seasons.
