The Federal Government has declared Tuesday, October 1, 2024, a public holiday in celebration of Nigeria’s 64th Independence Day Anniversary.
Minister of Interior, Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, announced the holiday on behalf of the government, extending congratulations to Nigerians both at home and abroad.
In a statement issued Friday by Permanent Secretary Dr. Magdalene Ajani, Dr. Tunji-Ojo commended Nigerians for their patience and hard work, assuring them that their sacrifices will not go unnoticed.
Reflecting on the theme for this year’s anniversary, the minister emphasized the importance of remembering the contributions of the nation’s past heroes and urged citizens to draw inspiration for the challenges ahead. He highlighted that a united effort is crucial to building the Nigeria of their dreams.
As the country marks the milestone, Dr. Tunji-Ojo wished Nigerians a happy Independence Day and encouraged continued dedication to nation-building.
