The Director-General of the Nigeria-China Strategic Partnership (NCSP), Joseph Tegbe, has held strategic discussions with the Chinese Ambassador to Nigeria, Yu Dunhai, on strengthening bilateral cooperation in power, infrastructure, and industrial development.
The meeting, held in Abuja, focused on deepening the Nigeria-China Comprehensive Strategic Partnership and identifying key areas of collaboration to support Nigeria’s economic growth and modernization agenda.
Ambassador Yu congratulated Tegbe on his appointment and commended his role in strengthening Nigeria-China relations, particularly within the framework of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC). He reaffirmed China’s commitment to implementing outcomes from the recent FOCAC Beijing Summit as well as existing bilateral agreements between both countries.
He stressed the importance of sustained cooperation in energy, power infrastructure, and development projects, noting that such collaboration would further enhance the strategic partnership and deliver tangible benefits to both nations.
In his response, Tegbe reaffirmed Nigeria’s commitment to strengthening ties with China, describing the country as a key development partner in its economic transformation efforts.
He expressed appreciation for China’s continued support for Nigeria’s development and pledged to work closely with the Chinese Embassy and relevant institutions to advance joint initiatives in power, infrastructure, manufacturing, and agriculture.
Tegbe added that deeper Nigeria-China cooperation would accelerate Nigeria’s development goals while also contributing to broader continental efforts toward industrialization and sustainable growth across Africa.
