The Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) has imposed a ₦6 million sanction on Saudi Airlines for violations related to consumer protection regulations.
In a statement issued by the Director of Public Affairs and Consumer Protection, Chris Achimugu, the NCAA said the decision followed previous interventions aimed at preventing disruptions at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport and allowing the airline additional time to resolve outstanding operational issues.
The Authority said the sanction was enforced under Part 19 of the NCAA Regulations 2023, stressing the need for strict compliance by all airlines operating in Nigeria.
According to the statement, the penalty is intended to ensure that passengers travelling to and from Nigeria are treated with fairness, dignity, and adequate protection.
While reaffirming its commitment to regulatory enforcement, the NCAA noted that it would continue to support Saudi Airlines and other operators in maintaining efficient and compliant operations within the aviation sector.
