FirstBank Nigeria is set to host the fifth edition of its Agric and Export Expo on September 16 and 17, 2026, as stakeholders seek to strengthen Nigeria’s agricultural sector and expand non-oil exports.
The two-day event, themed “From Farm to Global Markets: Building Nigeria’s Export Value Chain,” will bring together policymakers, regulators, agribusiness leaders, exporters, investors and development partners to discuss strategies for improving agricultural productivity, value addition and access to international markets.
The expo comes amid efforts to diversify Nigeria’s economy beyond oil, with agriculture and non-oil exports increasingly seen as important sources of economic growth, employment, food security and foreign exchange earnings.
The Minister of Agriculture and Food Security, Senator Abubakar Kyari, is expected to deliver the keynote address, focusing on ways to boost agricultural productivity and strengthen Nigeria’s food systems.
The Governor of Niger State, Mohammed Umar Bago, will deliver a goodwill message.
Other speakers expected at the event include Olasunkanmi Owoyemi, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Sunbeth Global Concepts Limited; Taiwo Ayoade, Deputy Managing Director of Agro Traders Limited and Plantation Industries Limited; and Sunil Kumar Chauhan, Managing Director and CEO of Dangote Fertiliser Limited.
Also expected are Ayodele Abioye, Managing Director and CEO of BUA Foods Plc; Dr Agboola Zubayr Belgore, Managing Director of Amo Byng Nigeria Limited; and Amit Bose, Chief Financial Officer of Valency Agro Nigeria.
Discussions at the expo will focus on emerging market opportunities, export financing, value addition, technological innovation and policy frameworks needed to help Nigerian businesses compete in global markets.
Now in its fifth year, the FirstBank Agric and Export Expo has become a platform for promoting collaboration, innovation and investment across Nigeria’s agriculture and export ecosystem.
Farmers, exporters, agribusiness owners, investors and entrepreneurs interested in participating can register for the event online.
