Globacom Reaffirms Commitment to Quality Data Services

By Ayomide Otitoju

Nigeria’s indigenous telecommunications company, Globacom, has reaffirmed its commitment to providing reliable data services, an optimised network and quality digital connectivity to enhance customer experience.

The company made the commitment during its 23rd anniversary celebration in Lagos, where it unveiled four products and launched a corporate advocacy campaign, “Never Settle for Less”, urging Nigerians to pursue greater satisfaction and fulfilment.

The company’s claim to improved service delivery is supported by recent data from the Nigerian Communications Commission, which ranked Globacom as the fastest-growing major mobile network in internet subscriptions in May 2026.

According to the NCC data, Nigeria’s internet subscriber base increased from about 154.3 million in April to 157 million in May, representing a monthly gain of 2.67 million subscribers.

Globacom accounted for nearly half of the increase, growing its internet subscriber base from approximately 15.5 million to 16.8 million during the period, representing an addition of about 1.3 million subscribers.

Airtel Nigeria recorded the second-highest growth with approximately 1.07 million additional subscribers, while MTN Nigeria added 382,894 subscribers.

Globacom said the growth reflected the impact of its continued investment in network modernisation and infrastructure expansion.

At the anniversary event, the company unveiled Welcome Bonus, Talkmasta Reloaded, Magic Data Bundles and the revamped Glo Café 3.0 self-service application.

Under the enhanced Talkmasta offer, subscribers now receive six free call minutes and 100MB of free data for every six minutes of calls, compared with the previous 50MB data benefit.

The company also increased the benefits under its Welcome Bonus, with new customers who purchase and activate a Glo SIM eligible for benefits valued at N2,100. These include 20 minutes of calls to all networks, 2GB of free data and a one-month GloTV Premium subscription.

Globacom also introduced Magic Data Bundles, which combine guaranteed data allocations with additional bonus data based on a predefined allocation structure.

The company said the Magic Data Bundles are available at N1,600 and N3,500, with customers eligible to receive bonus data ranging from 500MB to 12GB, depending on the bundle purchased.

Customers can access the offer through the Glo Café app or by dialling *312#.

The revamped Glo Café 3.0 app also features a redesigned user interface, additional security features and new payment options.

A major addition to the app is Gloria, an artificial intelligence-powered voice and text assistant designed to respond to customer queries and recommend offers.

According to Globacom, Gloria supports English, Yoruba, Igbo, Hausa, French and Spanish.

The app also offers promotional benefits, including 100GB for first-time registrants, a 100 per cent recharge bonus and special data bundles such as 10GB for N2,500.

The company said the new products were designed to provide customers with greater value while strengthening its position in Nigeria’s competitive telecommunications market.
