Aisha Buhari Visits Atiku, Calls for Focus on Nigerians’ Welfare

By Ayomide Otitoju

Former First Lady Aisha Buhari has visited former Vice-President and 2027 African Democratic Congress (ADC) presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar.

Atiku, who disclosed the visit, said it underscored the need for those seeking a better Nigeria to prioritise the welfare, dignity and future of Nigerians.

In a statement shared after the meeting, Atiku described Aisha Buhari’s visit as “warm and deeply appreciated.”

He said Nigerian families were facing growing pressure from rising costs of food, transportation, education, healthcare and other basic necessities.

According to him, Nigerians deserve an economy that rewards hard work, creates opportunities and enables families to live with dignity and hope.

Atiku said building such a country would require collective efforts to ease the economic burden on citizens and restore hope.

“That is the Nigeria we must build together, a country that works for its people again. We must ease the burden, restore hope and make Nigeria affordable again,” he said.
