The Executive Director of the Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative (EITI), Mark Robinson, has received the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited’s (NNPC Ltd) 2025 Audited Financial Statement (AFS), commending the company’s progress in transparency and corporate governance.

Robinson received the document from NNPC Ltd’s Head of Global Compliance, Murjanatu Gamawa, on the sidelines of the 2026 EITI Global Conference in Brussels, Belgium, on October 9.

He commended NNPC Ltd for publishing its Anti-Corruption Policy, which includes provisions for disclosing politically exposed persons and beneficial ownership information.

Robinson said the company’s progress offered lessons for other national oil companies as the EITI seeks to expand its membership among state-owned energy firms.

Gamawa said NNPC Ltd’s engagement with the EITI informed its decision to publish the audited financial statement.

She added that the company remained committed to working with the initiative to strengthen corporate governance and build confidence among investors, stakeholders and the public.

Both parties agreed to maintain regular engagements and explore opportunities for peer learning between NNPC Ltd and other national oil companies.

The presentation underscores NNPC Ltd’s disclosure efforts as it seeks to maintain accountability to investors, business partners and the Nigerian public.
