AXA Mansard Provides Free Medical Outreach to Abule Oja Residents

By Ayomide Otitoju

Hundreds of residents in Abule Oja, Lagos State, have benefited from a medical outreach fully funded by AXA Mansard Health Limited, reinforcing the company’s commitment to community wellness and universal healthcare access.

Commitment to Universal Health Coverage
Speaking on the initiative, AXA Mansard Health CEO, Tope Adeniyi, emphasized the company’s dedication to ensuring healthcare accessibility, affordability, and availability for all Nigerians.

“For us at AXA Mansard Health, universal health coverage is an important topic. We are convinced that healthcare should be accessible to everyone, regardless of their socio-economic, geographic, or educational status,” Adeniyi stated.

The outreach, he noted, is part of a broader community development effort that combines preventive health education with medical screenings and the distribution of mosquito nets.

“This medical outreach is one of several programs we have planned to improve community health this year. Earlier in the year, we donated medical equipment to general hospitals in remote areas across Nigeria’s six geopolitical zones. We remain committed to making wellness widespread, one community at a time,” he added.

Employee-Driven Initiative
Adeniyi also highlighted the crucial role of AXA Mansard employees in driving the initiative, describing it as more than just a corporate social responsibility (CSR) project.

“Our employees across ranks and departments were not only the brains behind this program; they actively participated in bringing it to life. This demonstrates that community impact is deeply ingrained in our company culture,” he said.

AXA Hearts in Action: A Global Volunteer Initiative
Chief Marketing Officer, Adebola Surakat, explained that the outreach was delivered under the AXA Hearts in Action program, the company’s global employee volunteering initiative.

“This program ensures that our employees are not just developing solutions for progress daily, but also dedicating their time to causes that promote a better and healthier society,” Surakat noted.

Community Appreciation
The Chairman of the Abule Oja Community Development Association, Alhaji Otunbade Nurudeen, expressed gratitude for the outreach, acknowledging its significance, especially in the current economic climate.

“We are delighted to have AXA Mansard here today. The investment in time, the mosquito nets, the health talk, and the screenings are impactful gestures that will help our community stay healthy,” he said.

The initiative is part of AXA Mansard’s ongoing efforts to bridge healthcare gaps and promote wellness across Nigeria.
