By Ayomide Otitoju

Deputy Senate President Barau Jibrin has declared full support for President Bola Tinubu’s re-election in 2027, rallying party loyalists and key figures of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Northern Kano behind the campaign.

The endorsement was made during the commissioning of the newly upgraded Federal Polytechnic, Kabo, now designated as the Federal University of Science and Technology. The institution’s upgrade was facilitated by Jibrin and swiftly approved by President Tinubu.

Addressing a large crowd of dignitaries, community leaders, and party supporters in Kabo Local Government Area, Jibrin praised Tinubu’s leadership, especially in advancing education and infrastructure in northern Nigeria. He described the President’s immediate approval of the institution’s conversion as a hallmark of decisive governance.

Jibrin also revealed that President Tinubu approved a separate request to establish another Federal Polytechnic in Kabo and reversed an earlier decision stalling the upgrade of Yusuf Maitama Sule University to a federal university of education.

Minister of State for Housing, Alhaji Yusuf Abdullahi Ata, also lauded Tinubu’s inclusive approach to national development. The event, marked by enthusiastic turnout, underscored the administration’s rising political capital in the North and its strategic investments in educational advancement.
