Nigeria’s most-watched reality show, Big Brother Naija (BBNaija), is set to return for its landmark 10th season with a double launch scheduled for Saturday, 26 July and Sunday, 27 July 2025.
At a media briefing held Wednesday, organisers announced that this year’s winner will walk away with a record ₦150 million — the largest prize ever offered since the show’s debut in 2006.
Renowned media personality Ebuka Obi-Uchendu will return as host, guiding audiences through what promises to be 10 weeks of high-stakes strategy, emotional twists, and electrifying entertainment. The season will conclude on Sunday, 5 October 2025.
Busola Tejumola, Executive Head of General Entertainment at MultiChoice, described the new season as “a celebration of legacy,” noting that the official theme for Season 10 will be unveiled during the premiere.
The audition process began online from May 3 to 7, followed by physical screenings in Lagos, Abuja, and Enugu between May 16 and 18. Organisers said the selection was focused on finding Nigeria’s most vibrant and engaging personalities.
During the event, Ebuka revealed that the show has featured 197 housemates across nine seasons, disbursed over ₦637 million in prize money, and aired for a total of 709 days.
Season 9, themed No Loose Guard, introduced a unique format where contestants initially entered in pairs before competing individually. The season concluded with Kellyrae emerging as the winner, taking home ₦100 million and making history as the first married housemate to win. Other standout contestants included Wanni X Handi, the Mbadiwe twins, Onyeka, Nelly, and Shaun.
The Season 10 premiere will air live at 7 p.m. WAT on Africa Magic Showcase, Africa Magic Family, and Showmax. A 24-hour live stream will be available on DStv Channel 198, GOtv Channel 49, and Showmax.
Viewers can also follow the show via the DStv and GOtv Stream apps, available on Android and iOS platforms. Weekly eviction shows will continue to air every Sunday on the same platforms.
