Dangote Petroleum Refinery has announced a nationwide initiative to distribute petrol and diesel at no cost to marketers, dealers, and large-scale users, beginning August 15, 2025.
In a statement released on Sunday, the Lagos-based facility said the program is part of its broader strategy to ease logistics costs, enhance energy access, and support economic development across Nigeria.
As part of the rollout, Dangote Refinery disclosed it had acquired 4,000 brand-new Compressed Natural Gas (CNG)-powered tankers to ensure efficient distribution of fuel across the country.
“In addition, the refinery will offer a credit facility to purchasers of at least 500,000 litres, granting them access to an additional 500,000 litres on a two-week credit basis, secured by a bank guarantee,” the statement read.
The refinery also confirmed investment in a nationwide CNG infrastructure, including daughter booster stations and a fleet of over 100 CNG tankers, aimed at improving last-mile fuel delivery.
“This strategic programme is expected to reactivate dormant petrol stations, stimulate job creation, bolster SMEs, and improve fuel accessibility in rural and underserved communities,” it added.
The company described the initiative as a significant milestone in its mission to transform Nigeria’s energy landscape. “We are committed to making affordable energy available to all Nigerians, no matter their location,” it concluded.
