The Enugu State Police Command has arraigned and remanded 30-year-old Tsehemba Joshua on charges of armed robbery and the murder of Yusuf Ibrahim, a 19-year-old scrap scavenger. Joshua is alleged to have conspired with two accomplices, who remain at large, to rob and strangle Ibrahim, later burying his body in a shallow grave. Following his court appearance, Joshua has been remanded at the Enugu Correctional Custodial Centre.
The arrest was made by officers from the Udenu Police Division after a community alert led them to the shallow grave in a bush near Ojo River, Ogbodu-Aba, in the Obollo community of Udenu LGA. According to police reports, Joshua confessed to luring Ibrahim with the false promise of selling a scrap vehicle propeller. He and his accomplices then allegedly robbed the victim of N100,000, strangled him, and buried his body on October 2, 2024.
The case, investigated by the Campus Monitoring and Anti-Cultism Section of the State CID Enugu, is now in the court’s hands, with the suspect awaiting further legal proceedings.
