The Managing Director and Chief Executive of the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN), Mrs. Olubunmi Kuku, has emphasized the need for unified stakeholder collaboration to enhance trade efficiency through the National Single Window initiative.
Speaking at the recently held National Single Window Stakeholders’ Forum in Lagos, Kuku underscored the initiative’s transformative potential in streamlining trade processes, improving transparency, and positioning Nigeria as a major player in global commerce.
Highlighting the critical role of aviation in trade, she noted that air cargo facilitates goods worth over $8 trillion annually, accounting for 33% of global trade by volume. She stressed that Nigeria, with its abundant resources and strategic geographic location, must harness the initiative to secure a larger share of this high-value market.
“The successful implementation of this system will undoubtedly lead to increased trade volumes, resulting in greater revenue for all involved stakeholders,” Kuku stated.
