First City Monument Bank (FCMB) has empowered 30 young graduates through its Flexxtern programme, providing them with practical skills, real-world experience, and a direct path to career success. The initiative, launched in 2016, has so far provided over 200 young Nigerians with internships at reputable organisations.
Yomi Adebanjo, Group Head of Human Resources at Signal Alliance Technology Holding, praised the programme: “Flexxtern is a platform for self-discovery and career progression. Since joining in 2021, we’ve had remarkable success, with one Flexxtern now employed full-time with us.”
The Flexxtern programme, open to individuals aged 18 to 30, continues to expand in scope as more companies join the mission to empower the next generation of professionals. Olawale Ayuba, Vice President of GRC and Enterprise Fraud at ActivEdge Technologies, emphasized the positive impact Flexxterns have had on his organization, stating, “Their contributions have been key to our success.”
Ifeoluwa Adeyemo of Insight Publicis echoed similar sentiments, highlighting the quality of the graduates and expressing commitment to the programme’s continued growth.
FCMB’s Divisional Head of Corporate Services & Service Management, Felicia Obozuwa, stressed the importance of partnerships in building a brighter future for Nigerian youths. Group Head of Corporate Affairs at FCMB, Diran Olojo, reiterated the bank’s dedication to preparing young people for the future of work through mentorship and real-world training.
