Five Music Stars to Appear on CNN’s ‘African Voices Changemakers,’ Sponsored by Globacom”

Five prominent music figures will feature on CNN International’s “African Voices Changemakers,” a magazine programme sponsored by telecommunications leader Globacom.

The stars set to appear include Chike Osebuka, known as Chike; Damilola Afolabi, also known as LAX; Blessing Akiode, who performs under the name Candy Bleakz; Ekeh Joseph, or Majeeed; and Ghanaian sensation Wendy Shay.

Chike, a Covenant University graduate, first gained recognition through his performances on the reality shows Project Fame West Africa and The Voice Nigeria. He transitioned to acting before focusing exclusively on music, achieving notable success with his debut album, Boo of the Booless, which earned the ‘Album of the Year’ award at the 2020 City People Music Awards.

LAX, who holds a Master’s degree from the University of Manchester, began his music career as part of the rap group Flybois.

Candy Bleakz launched her career in 2013 with her debut album, Blessing Sky, while Majeeed, a graduate of Iscom University in the Republic of Benin with a degree in Mass Communications, started his musical journey with singles such as ‘Gee for Life’ and ‘Rocky Lo’.
