The Israeli military on Sunday lifted a nationwide directive for citizens to remain in shelters following a fresh wave of Iranian missile strikes, as the conflict between the two nations entered its third day.
“Following the situational assessment, the Home Front Command published that it is now permitted to leave protected spaces in all areas across the country,” the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) said in a statement.
Earlier, sirens had sounded in several regions after the IDF detected incoming missiles launched from Iran. The renewed attacks followed Israel’s large-scale airstrikes on Friday, which targeted critical Iranian military and nuclear infrastructure.
Iranian authorities reported that at least 10 people were killed overnight in retaliatory missile fire on Israel, raising the total Iranian death toll from the ongoing escalation to 13, with 380 people injured since Friday.
Israel’s assault, described by officials as unprecedented, struck nuclear facilities, military compounds, and government buildings, including what Iranian media said was a strike on Tehran’s police headquarters. At least 128 people, including children, were reportedly killed in the Israeli attacks, according to Iran’s Health Ministry, with hundreds more injured.
The conflict marks a dangerous new chapter in the long-standing hostilities between the two regional powers, with international observers warning of broader destabilization if the violence persists.
