Keystone Bank Limited has officially reopened its fully refurbished branch at Plot 584, Ikorodu Road, Ketu, Lagos, in a move aimed at enhancing customer experience and strengthening its presence in one of Lagos’ key commercial corridors.
The reopening ceremony, held on Friday, drew a notable crowd including business owners, market leaders, community heads, and customers from across Ketu and neighboring areas.
Speaking at the event, the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Keystone Bank, Mr. Hassan Imam, described the branch’s reopening as a significant milestone in the bank’s ongoing retail expansion strategy and commitment to financial inclusion.
“This axis is home to a vibrant community of entrepreneurs, traders, and families. We are here to serve them better with upgraded facilities and a more personalized banking experience,” Imam stated. “At Keystone Bank, we believe in growing together with our customers. The return of full operations in Ketu ensures seamless, secure, and convenient banking for the community.”
Mr. Imam further highlighted the bank’s dual focus on digital innovation and physical branch presence, emphasizing the continued relevance of branches in commercial hubs like Ketu.
“As a retail-driven bank, we are committed to empowering MSMEs through tailored loan offerings, advisory support, and capacity-building initiatives. Over the years, we have partnered with global organizations like Facebook, Google, and the Lagos Chamber of Commerce to support small businesses—and we are building on that legacy here in Ketu.”
Also speaking at the event, Mrs. Nnenna Anyim-Okoro, Executive Director, Corporate Bank & South, reaffirmed the bank’s dedication to small business growth. “We are here to build long-term partnerships and deliver practical solutions—whether through access to finance, business tools, or financial literacy,” she said.
Chairman of the Mile 12 International Market, Alhaji Shehu Usman, welcomed the reopening and commended Keystone Bank’s longstanding relationship with the local business community. “Many of us have banked with Keystone for years. The reopening of this branch is a huge relief for traders in this area,” he said, revealing that over 100 traders opened new accounts within a week of preparations for the reopening.
In a show of strong community interest, the bank disclosed that over 200 new accounts were opened at the event, while several dormant accounts were reactivated.
Ayokunle Ibikunle, an electronics merchant in Ketu, also expressed optimism. “Having a reliable bank close by means faster service, better loan access, and improved business operations. I’ve already opened my account,” he said.
The Ketu branch is expected to serve as a key hub for Keystone Bank’s retail and SME-focused services, offering a broad range of financial products to support business and personal banking needs.
The event was graced by senior executives of the bank, community leaders, heads of market associations, and members of the Lagos business community.
