Makinde Condoles Olubadan’s Family, Pledges Support for Burial Rites

Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde on Tuesday paid a condolence visit to the family of the late Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Akinloye Owolabi Olakulehin, offering personal assurances of support for the monarch’s funeral rites.

According to iReporter Online, the Governor visited the Olubadan’s residence in the Alalubosa area of Ibadan, where he was received by royal family members, including Princes Sumbo, Osuolale, Akinwumi Olakulehin, and Princess Olutosin Olakulehin.

Governor Makinde extended his heartfelt condolences and pledged his administration’s full support for honoring the late monarch’s legacy. Oba Olakulehin, the 43rd Olubadan of Ibadanland, passed away on July 7, 2025, marking the end of a revered traditional reign.

The Governor’s visit was widely seen as a gesture of solidarity with the Olubadan-in-Council and the broader Ibadan community as preparations continue for the monarch’s burial.
