Moffi fires Lorient to first league win of the season

Terem  Moffi was on target for the first time in the French Ligue 1 this season as he netted the winner for Lorient against Monaco on Friday.

The Nigerian international who failed to find the target in Lorient league opener against Saint Etiene played at the Geoffroy-Guichard Stadium last weekend, kept his place in Lorient attack for the visit of Monaco.
Moffi opened his account for the new season when he converted from the penalty spot in the 31st minute to put his side in front.

Monace defender Ismail Jakobs pulled Terem Moffi’s shirt in the box and the referee wasted no time to award a spot kick. The Super Eagles forward stepped forward and managed to squeeze his effort past the goalkeeper.

The goal happened to be the match decided as both sides failed to hit the target in the second fourth-five minutes.
The 22-year-old who netted 14 goals last season was taken off for Adrian Grbic in the 85th minutes of the encounter.
Lorient are sitting on top of the table with four points and they will travel to Montpellier on Sunday, August 22 for the or third game of the season.
