Japanese tennis star Naomi Osaka revealed on Monday that she has ended her relationship with American rapper Cordae, just days before the start of the Australian Open.
The pair, who began dating in 2019, share a young daughter, Shai. Osaka shared the news in an Instagram post, describing their separation as amicable.
“Hi everyone, just wanted to say that Cordae and I are no longer in a relationship,” the four-time Grand Slam champion wrote. “No bad blood at all, he’s a great person and an awesome dad. Honestly, really glad our paths crossed because my daughter is my biggest blessing, and I was able to grow a lot from our experiences together,” she added, ending the post with a red heart emoji.
Osaka did not disclose when the split occurred.
Injury Concerns Ahead of Australian Open
The announcement comes shortly after Osaka made her first WTA final appearance since 2022 at the Auckland Classic over the weekend. However, she withdrew from the final due to an abdominal injury after taking the first set 6-4.
While the injury does not appear to be severe, questions remain about her readiness for the Australian Open, which begins Sunday.
