The Nigerian National Petroleum Company (NNPC) Limited on Thursday commissioned five Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) mini-plants in Ajaokuta, Kogi State, as part of efforts to expand domestic gas supply and infrastructure.
The newly launched plants—PRIME LNG, NGML/Gasnexus LNG, BUA LNG, Highland LNG, and LNG Arete—will source their feedstock from existing natural gas pipelines running through Ajaokuta. The primary supply line for these plants is the Ajaokuta-Kaduna-Kano (AKK) gas pipeline, currently under construction by the Federal Government.
According to NNPC, the mini-plants are expected to provide gas to regions of the country currently lacking access to gas infrastructure, enhancing energy availability and supporting industrial growth.
