By Ayomide Otitoju

The Governor of Ondo State, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, has announced a three-day period of mourning and prayers in honor of the late Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Temitayo Oluwatuyi. The mourning period, slated for Sunday, January 5, to Tuesday, January 7, 2025, was declared during a condolence visit by the governor and members of the State Executive Council to the family of the deceased in Akure on Sunday.

Oluwatuyi passed away on Saturday at a hospital in Akure while receiving treatment following a road accident he survived in December 2024.

In his condolence speech, Governor Aiyedatiwa praised Oluwatuyi’s legacy, describing him as a pivotal figure in the politics and governance of Ondo State. “The history of this state will not be complete without acknowledging his contributions,” the governor remarked.

Aiyedatiwa lauded the late SSG as a “complete gentleman” who lived with humility and integrity, both in his public service and private life. He also prayed for the repose of Oluwatuyi’s soul and assured the family of the government’s support during this challenging period.

The late Oluwatuyi is remembered as a dedicated public servant whose impact will resonate in Ondo State’s history.
