Pastor Idowu Iluyomade, former senior pastor of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) City of David parish, has announced a major milestone for his new ministry, The Family Fellowship. The ministry has acquired a permanent site at Eko Atlantic, thanks to a generous land donation from a member of the church.
The announcement was made during the second service held at the Civic Centre, where Pastor Iluyomade used the occasion to emphasize the importance of giving in the Christian faith.
Delivering a sermon titled “Giving,” he urged believers to embrace generosity as a core part of their spiritual walk. “As believers, you have to be very careful because there are all kinds of doctrines flying around today,” he said. “If you are not careful, you will miss it in this area, and that is the gospel truth.”
Pastor Iluyomade underscored the significance of offerings and tithes in advancing God’s work. “Your giving begins with your offering. Tithe belongs to God—10 percent of your income belongs to Him. And God knows mathematics,” he noted, referencing Malachi 3, where God admonishes people for withholding tithes and offerings.
He further explained that ministry work requires financial support. “Ministry costs money—that’s why God said we should bring tithes so the needs of His house are met. Concerning offerings, God said everyone should give according to how He has blessed them. Naturally, the rich should give more than those with less. We must give in proportion to our prosperity.”
The acquisition of the permanent site at Eko Atlantic marks a significant step for The Family Fellowship, reflecting Pastor Iluyomade’s vision of cultivating a culture of generosity among believers while creating a sustainable foundation for ministry work.
