The Governing Council of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR) has announced the appointment of Rasheed Bolarinwa, President of the Association of Communication and Marketing Professionals in Banks (ACAMB), as the Chairman of its newly established Management Committee of FinanceHub.
The committee, which includes representatives from banking, insurance, and pensions, aims to enhance sustainable public relations practices within the finance sector. The appointment was confirmed by the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN).
Bolarinwa, who is also the Head of Brand Management and Corporate Communication at Polaris Bank, brings extensive experience in journalism, public relations, and the financial sector. He will be working alongside other experts from the maritime and aviation industries to improve PR practices across the finance, insurance, and pension sectors.
Re-elected as ACAMB President in January 2024 after serving two terms as Secretary-General, Bolarinwa is expected to play a key role in driving forward NIPR’s objectives for FinanceHub.
Other key appointments to head newly created sectoral hubs include Mrs. Thelma Okoh for Maritime Hub, Dr. Jossy Nkwocha for Energy Hub, and Mr. Basil Agboarumi for Aviation Hub. Dr. Ahmad Sajoh has been appointed to lead the Anti-Corruption and Consumer Protection Hub, while Miss Chimdi Neliaku will head the Young Practitioners Hub.
The appointments were confirmed through nomination letters signed by Uzoma Onyegbadue, the Registrar and Secretary of the NIPR Governing Council. The creation of the sectoral hubs is part of NIPR’s strategy to foster sustainable public relations practices across key industries in Nigeria.
Speaking at the inauguration of the committee members, NIPR National President Dr. Ike Neliaku expressed confidence in the caliber of the appointees, stating that their selection reflects the council’s trust in their expertise and commitment.
“We are excited to work with these distinguished professionals to positively impact PR practices across the respective sectoral hubs,” Neliaku said, pledging the council’s full support to the new committees.
