Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has extended his congratulations to former Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice of Lagos State, Mr. Kazeem Adeniji (SAN), following his emergence as President of the Ansar-Ud-Deen Society Worldwide.
Adeniji was unanimously selected as president during the society’s recent triennial delegates conference in Abeokuta, Ogun State, an event that drew religious leaders, national icons, and community stakeholders from across the country[10][6]. The selection marks the end of AbdulRafiu Sani’s two-term tenure and ushers in a new executive team for the over 100-year-old Islamic organisation
In a statement released by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Gboyega Akosile, on Wednesday, Governor Sanwo-Olu described Adeniji’s appointment as “well-deserved,” citing his longstanding commitment to the propagation of Islamic faith and values[4]. The governor urged Adeniji to leverage his new position to advance the cause of Islam, foster the growth and development of the Ansar-Ud-Deen Society, and contribute to the betterment of humanity.
Sanwo-Olu also extended his best wishes to Adeniji and the newly elected executive members, expressing confidence in their ability to steer the society toward greater achievements during their tenure
Adeniji, a Senior Advocate of Nigeria, previously served as Lagos State’s Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice from 2015 to 2019. In his acceptance remarks, he pledged to lead the society with transparency and unity, promising to focus on educational initiatives, community outreach, and organisational reforms[3][6]. His vision includes expanding access to education through Ansar-Ud-Deen schools and launching new initiatives such as heritage centres and medical aid programmes for vulnerable groups[3][9].
The inauguration was conducted by the society’s National Missioner, Sheikh AbdurRahman Olanrewaju Ahmad, who offered prayers for the success of the new administration
