United Bank for Africa (UBA) Plc, Africa’s Global Bank, is marking a decade of digital transformation through its strategic partnership with fintech leader, VERiCASH. The collaboration, which birthed the award-winning UBA Mobile App, has revolutionised banking experiences across the continent—bringing secure, seamless, and user-friendly services to millions of users.
To commemorate the milestone, UBA has launched a celebratory promo for mobile app users, designed to reward loyalty and reaffirm the bank’s commitment to innovation, financial inclusion, and customer-centric service delivery.
With over 10 million downloads, the UBA Mobile App is among Nigeria’s most downloaded financial applications, underscoring UBA’s leadership in digital banking across Africa.
Speaking on the partnership, Shamsideen Fashola, Group Head, Retail and Digital Banking at UBA, said the app has set global standards and contributed significantly to financial inclusion in over 20 countries.
“This partnership with VERiCASH has been instrumental in positioning UBA as Africa’s premier digital banking institution. We have made banking accessible to the unbanked, enabling millions of Africans to participate in the formal financial system from the comfort of their homes,” Fashola said.
Chairman of CIT VERiCASH, Ashraf Zaki, also lauded the collaboration, describing it as a benchmark for successful fintech-bank integration on the continent.
