The rally, titled “Unite for America,” featured virtual appearances by Hollywood icons such as Jennifer Lopez, Meryl Streep, Julia Roberts, Chris Rock, and Ben Stiller, all voicing their support for the Democratic candidate.
Held in Michigan, a critical battleground state, the rally saw Harris embracing her growing confidence. “We each have those moments in our lives when you have to step up,” Harris shared, responding to Winfrey’s observation that she seemed more assured after replacing President Joe Biden as the Democratic nominee.

While Harris’s rally struck a hopeful tone, former president Trump took a different approach, using an anti-Semitism event in Washington to criticize Jewish Americans for historically supporting Democrats. “If I don’t win this election… in my opinion, the Jewish people would have a lot to do with a loss,” Trump remarked. He went further, suggesting that “any Jewish person that votes for her… should have their head examined,” referring to Harris’s perceived lack of support for Israel in the wake of the October 7 Hamas attacks.
The contrast between the two candidates was stark. Harris’s glitzy rally, with virtual nods from groups like “Swifties for Harris” and “Cat Ladies for Kamala,” highlighted the cultural significance she hopes to leverage. Meanwhile, Trump’s rhetoric reflected his ongoing grievances over voter demographics, particularly Jewish voters.
As the election draws closer, both candidates are vying for every vote, especially in key swing states like Pennsylvania and Michigan, where polls show a tight race. The war in Gaza has emerged as a pivotal issue, with Harris facing challenges from Arab-American communities critical of the Biden administration’s support for Israel. Trump has used this to target Harris, saying that “Israel, more than any other people on Earth, has to defeat her.”
