The Group Chief Executive Officer of the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPC), Mele Kyari, has expressed deep gratitude for the outpouring of support following the death of his daughter, Fatima.
In a statement shared via X on Monday, Kyari reflected on her life, acknowledging her passing as part of divine will and expressing hope of reuniting with her in Jannah (paradise) by Allah’s grace.
“My daughter Fatima departed at her appointed time, and I look forward to meeting her in Jannah by Allah’s grace. While the loss is great by all measures, we remain grateful to God for all His mercies,” Kyari said.
He shared how Fatima, despite her physical challenges, had a profound impact on those around her. “I didn’t know the depth of her connections with many people and what she meant to many,” he added.
Kyari noted that the overwhelming support his family received during this time of grief had shown how compassion can bring people together, transcending social circumstances.
He extended heartfelt thanks to leaders, family members, friends, associates, colleagues, teachers, and all those who offered prayers and support. “I profoundly thank our leaders, family members, friends, associates, colleagues, our teachers, and the countless unmentioned who joined us to pray for the repose of her soul and for consoling us,” Kyari stated.
Fatima’s passing has brought widespread sympathy, highlighting the deep connections she had in her community and beyond.
