The Kano State Police Command has apprehended Inuwa Zakari, also known as “Gundura,” a 24-year-old notorious criminal, alongside 14 others during clearance operations conducted between October 25 and 27, 2024. Gundura, listed among Kano’s most wanted, was identified as the attacker in an incident where he, along with accomplices, inflicted life-threatening injuries on a Vigilante Commander and damaged a police vehicle.
The arrests come as part of intensified efforts led by Kano’s Commissioner of Police, CP Salman Dogo Garba, who directed tactical commanders to launch aggressive anti-thuggery operations, increase visibility patrols, and broaden intelligence gathering across the state. The Commissioner emphasized the command’s firm stance against violent crime, pledging to uphold law and order for the safety of Kano residents.
Currently, the suspects are undergoing investigation at the Command’s Criminal Investigation Department (CID) and will face prosecution. CP Garba also expressed appreciation for public support, urging residents to report any suspicious activities to the nearest police station or via emergency contact numbers: 08032419754, 08123821575, and 09029292926.
