By Ayomide Otitoju

Rite Foods Limited has expanded its beverage portfolio with the launch of LIDA Malt Classic, a non-alcoholic malt drink positioned to offer consumers another option in Nigeria’s malt beverage market.

The product, introduced under the brand proposition “LIDA Malt. Made for You,” was unveiled to media representatives and content creators during an immersion programme at the company’s manufacturing facility in Ososa, Ijebu Ode, Ogun State, on October 15, 2026.

The programme provided participants with an opportunity to learn about the new product and the manufacturing operations supporting the company’s beverage portfolio.

Speaking at the event, Head of Corporate Affairs and Sustainability at Rite Foods, Ekuma Eze, said the introduction reflected the company’s commitment to product development and delivering quality products to the Nigerian market.

He said LIDA Malt Classic was designed for everyday occasions, including meals, social gatherings and moments of relaxation.

The drink is currently available in its Classic variant and packaged in polyethylene terephthalate (PET) bottles.

Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Rite Foods, Seleem Adegunwa, said the launch aligned with the company’s focus on innovation and responding to changing consumer preferences.

He added that the company would continue to explore opportunities to strengthen its portfolio with products that combine quality and relevance to consumers.

Head of Marketing at Rite Foods, Toyin Nnodi, said the brand was developed with consumers’ preferences and everyday experiences in mind.

“LIDA Malt was developed with the consumer in mind. We understand that people want quality products that fit their preferences and everyday routines,” she said, adding that the “Made for You” proposition reflected the company’s consumer-focused approach.

LIDA Malt joins the company’s existing beverage brands, including Bigi Carbonated Soft Drinks, available in 13 variants; Bigi Premium Drinking Water; Sosa Fruit Drink, with five variants; and Fearless Energy Drink.

The company also manufactures Rite Spicy Beef, Bigi Beef and Bigi Flex sausages using automated production infrastructure.

Beyond product development, Rite Foods said it was pursuing operational efficiency and sustainability through the use of cleaner energy sources in its manufacturing operations.

During the factory tour, Eze said the company’s energy strategy was designed to support productivity, sustainability and business continuity.

“Our approach recognises the realities of industrial operations in Nigeria while deliberately pursuing cleaner, more efficient and more resilient energy solutions,” he said.

According to Eze, natural gas and solar power account for approximately 95 per cent of the company’s energy consumption, while diesel supplies the remaining five per cent.

The introduction of LIDA Malt Classic marks another addition to Rite Foods’ locally manufactured food and beverage products as the company continues to expand its presence in the Nigerian market.
