Senator Dino Melaye has shared his thoughts on the ongoing discussions regarding the retirement of Bishop David Abioye and the upcoming Shiloh 2024 event, an annual Christian gathering organized by the Living Faith Church Worldwide under the leadership of Bishop David Oyedepo.
Taking to his X page, Melaye indicated his absence from this year’s gathering and raised concerns about Bishop Abioye’s apparent retirement, which has sparked debate among church members and followers.
Melaye’s remarks appear to underscore a perceived inconsistency in leadership transitions within the church, questioning the rationale behind Bishop Abioye’s step down given that Bishop Oyedepo, who is older, remains in his position.
“I did not attend Shiloh 2024. Because Shiloh without Bishop Abioye is somehow. I can’t understand why Bishop Oyedepo, who is older, is not retired, and it is Bishop Abioye who is younger that should be forcefully retired. God did not retire Abioye, only Oyedepo did. Let’s watch…” Melaye stated, hinting at a broader conversation about leadership dynamics within the church.
The senator’s comments reflect growing curiosity and concern among members of the congregation about the future direction of the church and its leadership.
