Hundreds of Cristiano Ronaldo fans queued for hours in Hong Kong on Monday for a glimpse of the football icon’s memorabilia, as a new exhibition celebrating the global superstar opened in Asia for the first time.
The “CR7 LIFE Museum Hong Kong,” hosted at a luxury shopping mall, features life-sized statues of Ronaldo in iconic poses — including his signature leap and a model dressed in traditional Saudi attire. Visitors can also view his trophies and jerseys up close.
“Cristiano Ronaldo is my idol… he’s special,” said 14-year-old Alvin Lai, the first in line among more than 100 eager fans.
The Portuguese legend, who recently extended his contract with Saudi club Al Nassr, is expected to visit the museum “very soon,” according to Tomas Froes, a representative of Ronaldo’s family office.
The 12,000-square-foot exhibition, which organizers say sends a “strong message for everyone to achieve their dreams,” will run in Hong Kong for a year before relocating to mainland China.
Ronaldo’s Al Nassr is also scheduled to participate in a pre-season tournament in Hong Kong next month, further fueling local excitement.
