Fidelity Bank Plc has confirmed that Lagos State Governor, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu, will lead the state’s delegation to the 2025 edition of the Fidelity Nigeria International Trade and Creative Connect (FNITCC) scheduled to hold in Atlanta, United States.

In a statement issued over the weekend, the bank said Governor Sanwo-Olu would use the global platform to showcase Lagos as Africa’s largest economy while exploring potential areas of partnership with the City of Atlanta and the State of Georgia.

“Lagos is a city of enterprise, creativity, and boundless opportunity. At FNITCC Atlanta, we are not only showcasing Lagos as Africa’s largest economy, but also building bridges of trade, investment, and cultural exchange with our partners in Atlanta and the wider United States,” Sanwo-Olu said.

Organised in partnership with AFRICON, the three-day conference will run from September 18 to 20, 2025, and is expected to attract over 3,000 participants, including investors, trade agencies, exporters, and diaspora professionals. The event is projected to facilitate trade and investment deals worth more than US$500 million.

Commenting on the state’s participation, Fidelity Bank Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer, Dr. Nneka Onyeali-Ikpe, said the engagement aligns with the bank’s mission of driving growth and prosperity.

“As the largest economy on the continent, Lagos State is well-positioned to capitalise on the wide range of opportunities we are creating to ensure Nigerian products are effectively received within the global marketplace, especially on the American continent through FNITCC Atlanta,” Onyeali-Ikpe said.

The event will feature workshops, panel sessions, exhibitions, and matchmaking meetings linking U.S. investors with African businesses. Speakers will include Mustafa Chike-Obi, Chairman of Fidelity Bank Plc; Aishah Ahmad, former Deputy Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria; Abba Bello, Managing Director of NEXIM Bank; and Olasunkanmi Owoyemi, Group Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of Sunbeth Global Concepts Nigeria Ltd.

Exhibitions will cut across agriculture, extractive industries, fashion, the creative economy, and professional services. Participants can register through the bank’s official website.

Fidelity Bank, a full-fledged commercial bank with over 9.1 million customers across Nigeria and the United Kingdom, has in recent years won multiple awards, including the 2024 Euromoney Award for Best Bank for SMEs in Nigeria.
