Fidelity Bank Plc has reinforced its commitment to environmental preservation and sustainable development by partnering with Greenfingers Wildlife Initiative to plant trees at Elegushi Beach, Lekki, Lagos. The initiative forms part of the bank’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) program, the Fidelity Helping Hands Programme (FHHP).

The project was spearheaded by Fidelity Bank’s newly inducted employees, known as the Vault Class, who selected tree planting as their community impact project. The bank provided matching financial support to ensure successful implementation.

Speaking at the event, Dr. Meksley Nwagboh, Divisional Head of Brand and Communications at Fidelity Bank, emphasized the institution’s dedication to promoting sustainable practices.

“Environmental preservation is a key CSR pillar for us at Fidelity Bank. Protecting the earth is a shared responsibility, and this initiative is part of our ongoing efforts to promote sustainability and combat climate change,” Nwagboh said. He added that the exercise also included a beach clean-up to remove waste from the shoreline and marine areas.

Nwagboh further highlighted Fidelity Bank’s continued support for environmental conservation initiatives nationwide, including its partnership with the Nigerian Conservation Foundation (NCF). “Tree planting is integral to our climate action and resilience plan, and we aim to expand our environment-friendly operations consistently,” he said.

Mr. Chinedu Mogbo, Founder of Greenfingers Wildlife Initiative, commended Fidelity Bank for its proactive environmental engagement. “Our partnership with Fidelity Bank is driven by a shared mission to create a safer, greener environment for humans and wildlife. Beyond enhancing environmental safety, planting trees helps beautify our surroundings and restore balance to nature,” Mogbo noted.

The exercise marks another milestone in Fidelity Bank’s CSR efforts to promote sustainable living, protect biodiversity, conserve aquatic ecosystems, and combat climate change.
