APO Group Names Libby Allen VP, Brand & Creative

By Ayomide Otitoju

APO Group, a leading pan-African communications consultancy and press release distribution service, has appointed Libby Allen as Vice President, Brand & Creative, in a newly created role that forms part of its Senior Leadership Team.

The appointment underscores APO Group’s strategic investment in strengthening its brand and creative capabilities as the company enters its next phase of growth. It also reflects a deliberate move to embed brand, positioning and creative leadership more closely within executive decision-making, recognising brand as a key driver of credibility, differentiation and long-term performance.

As the Group continues to scale its integrated communications offering across Africa and international markets, Allen will lead brand strategy and creative direction across marketing, digital, content and visual identity. Her responsibilities include enhancing coherence and consistency across markets, evolving how the Group presents itself at scale, and building a robust Brand & Creative function to support APO Group’s expanding services and footprint. She will work closely with public relations, commercial and senior leadership teams to ensure brand strategy aligns with broader business objectives.

Commenting on the appointment, CEO of APO Group, Bas Wijne, said brand and creative leadership had become increasingly central as the business grows in scale and complexity.

“Elevating this function to senior leadership level ensures stronger alignment between strategy, execution and market perception, and positions the business for its next stage of development,” Wijne said.

Allen joined APO Group during a period of rapid expansion and has played a key role in establishing a more structured approach to brand and marketing. Her work has focused on sharpening the Group’s positioning, setting standards and systems, and building a dedicated Brand & Creative team to support a pan-African organisation operating across multiple sectors.

She brings experience across private-sector brand leadership and high-stakes environments, including commercial, sustainability, social impact and regulated sectors, as well as work linked to multilateral institutions. Her career spans African, European and global markets.

Describing brand as a strategic business asset, Allen said the role would focus on building a platform that supports growth and reflects the scale and performance of APO Group’s work.

“As APO Group continues to grow, the way we present ourselves to markets must reflect the scale, substance and performance of our work,” she said.

The appointment further reinforces APO Group’s position as a trusted communications partner for African and global organisations, offering strategic advisory services, disciplined execution and guaranteed visibility through its proprietary distribution infrastructure.
