The MTN Foundation has launched its 2026 Anti-Substance Abuse Programme (ASAP) with a State Stakeholders Conference held on June 9, 2026, in Enugu, bringing together representatives from government, healthcare, law enforcement, and community organisations to address Nigeria’s growing drug abuse challenge.
The conference served as a platform for collaborative dialogue on strategies to curb substance abuse and strengthen prevention efforts across the country.
Following the engagement, the Foundation has commenced community outreach activities under the ASAP 2026 campaign, beginning with a series of advocacy walks.
The first walk is scheduled to hold on Saturday, June 13, in Gombe. Participants are expected to assemble at 7:00 a.m. at the Federal College of Education (Technical), Ashaka Bajoga Road, and proceed to Gombe State University, Tudun Wada, Shamaki Ward, Gombe City.
According to the Foundation, the initiative is aimed at amplifying awareness on the dangers of substance abuse while encouraging collective action to empower young people to make informed choices and build healthier futures.
