Access Bank Plc has secured 16 honours at the Euromoney Awards for Excellence 2026, reinforcing its position as one of Africa’s leading financial institutions and strengthening its reputation in the global banking industry.

In a statement issued on Friday, the bank said the awards recognised its achievements in customer experience, sustainable finance, SME banking, digital banking, corporate responsibility and market leadership across several African countries.

The bank described the recognition as one of the strongest performances by any African financial institution at this year’s awards, attributing the achievement to its long-term strategy focused on innovation, sustainability, customer-centric services and responsible growth.

The Euromoney Awards for Excellence, regarded as one of the banking industry’s most prestigious honours, recognise outstanding performance in financial services, governance, innovation, strategic execution and long-term value creation.

Access Bank received awards for corporate responsibility in Angola, Botswana and Nigeria; digital banking leadership in Cameroon; customer experience in the Democratic Republic of Congo and Kenya through the National Bank of Kenya; SME banking in Ghana, Nigeria and Zambia; sustainable finance and ESG leadership in Rwanda and Zambia; as well as Best Bank awards in The Gambia, Sierra Leone and Zambia.

The bank said the accolades reflect its continued investment in digital innovation, financial inclusion, sustainability, customer service and operational resilience, supported by a strong governance and risk management framework across its African and international operations.

Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Access Bank Plc, Roosevelt Ogbonna, said the awards underscore the confidence customers and stakeholders have placed in the institution.

“These awards are a tribute to the trust our customers place in us, the dedication of our employees and the strength of the communities and markets we serve,” Ogbonna said.

He added that the recognition validates the bank’s commitment to innovation, customer excellence, sustainability and responsible growth while demonstrating that African financial institutions can compete successfully on the global stage.

Ogbonna reaffirmed the bank’s commitment to delivering long-term value, enhancing world-class financial services and supporting Africa’s economic transformation.

According to the bank, the awards are expected to further strengthen customer confidence by driving improvements in digital banking services, security, international connectivity and overall service delivery, while reinforcing its credibility among investors, development finance institutions, correspondent banks and regulators worldwide.
