Arsenal Linked With Vinicius but Yet to Make Formal Bid

The Brazilian forward, who has been linked with the Premier League club in recent days, is entering the final year of his current deal with the Spanish giants. However, Arsenal are understood not to have made a formal approach for the 26-year-old despite reports suggesting they are willing to offer him a lucrative contract to tempt him to the Emirates Stadium.

Contract discussions between Vinicius and Real Madrid stalled last season, but the La Liga club remain determined to secure his long-term future. Negotiations are expected to resume in the coming days as both parties seek to reach an agreement.

While talks continue, Vinicius is not expected to return to training at Real Madrid’s Valdebebas complex this week. The winger had initially been scheduled to rejoin the squad before the end of the month but is now expected to wait until his contractual situation is resolved.

Despite the speculation surrounding his future, Vinicius is believed to favour extending his stay at Real Madrid rather than pursuing a transfer this summer. Reports indicate the gap between the player’s salary demands and the club’s offer is relatively small, although an agreement has yet to be finalised.

New Real Madrid head coach José Mourinho is also reportedly determined to retain the Brazilian as part of his plans for the new season.

Arsenal remain in the market for a marquee signing after missing out on England midfielder Morgan Rogers, who joined Chelsea earlier this summer.

However, Vinicius’ wage demands could prove a major obstacle. The Brazil international is currently believed to earn around £400,000 per week and is seeking an improved salary as part of any new agreement.

Meanwhile, Real Madrid are also close to signing highly rated Ivorian winger Yan Diomande. The youngster’s expected arrival is not believed to affect Vinicius’ future, as Diomande is capable of playing across all three attacking positions.
