Inter Milan have completed the signing of Curtis Jones from Liverpool in a deal worth up to €35 million (£30 million).
Liverpool accepted an initial €30 million (£25.7 million) fee for the 25-year-old midfielder, with a further €5 million (£4.3 million) available in add-ons. Jones has signed a contract with Inter until 2031.
Liverpool have also negotiated a 10% sell-on clause as part of the agreement.
Inter had previously shown interest in Jones during the January transfer window, when they proposed a loan deal with an option to make the move permanent. Liverpool rejected the proposal.
The Serie A champions returned with a formal approach in June, initially offering €25 million (£21.7 million), but Liverpool turned it down and valued their academy graduate at around £35 million.
More recently, Liverpool indicated that a package similar to the £30 million deal Inter agreed with Tottenham for Djed Spence could lead to an agreement.
Jones joined Liverpool’s academy at the age of nine and made his senior debut under Jurgen Klopp in 2019.
He went on to make 228 appearances for the Reds and featured 49 times in all competitions last season. However, he started only 18 Premier League matches and struggled to establish himself as a regular in Arne Slot’s midfield.
Jones becomes the third English player to join Inter this summer, following John Stones and Djed Spence.
