Lagos State Governor and Chairman of the South-West Governors’ Forum, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, will on Tuesday deliver the Centenary Lecture of the Yoruba Tennis Club (YTC) as part of activities marking the club’s 100th anniversary.
The lecture, titled “Democracy, Governance and the Lagos Spirit: A Century of Excellence,” will take place at the Greetings Hall of the Yoruba Tennis Club, Onikan, Lagos.
Sanwo-Olu, who is a Vice Patron and member of the club, is expected to speak on issues relating to democracy, governance and Lagos’ development.
The Yoruba Tennis Club, founded in 1928, is recognised as Nigeria’s oldest indigenous social club.
The lecture is part of a series of activities organised to commemorate the club’s centenary.
The event will be hosted by the club’s Chairman, Chief Olawunmi Gasper, and is expected to attract academics, civil society representatives, youth groups, students, members of sister clubs and heads of diplomatic missions.
