Several parts of Port Harcourt, Rivers State, have been affected by flooding following about three days of persistent rainfall across the city.
Flooding was reported in areas including New G.R.A., parts of the Eliozu–G.U. Ake Road, Eneka, Elimgbu, Odili Road, SARS Road and parts of Rupokwu.
While some areas recorded stagnant water, flooding was more severe in some residential communities, particularly around the Eneka axis, where residents reportedly faced rising water entering their homes.
Videos circulating on social media showed residents appealing for help as floodwaters submerged parts of their homes.
An eyewitness described the situation as alarming, particularly for communities already affected by rising water levels.
The continued rainfall has raised concerns that additional areas could be affected if the downpour persists.
Residents in affected communities are calling for urgent intervention, especially in areas where flooding has disrupted homes and daily activities.
