The Arab Coordination Group (ACG) convened its periodic technical meeting of Heads of Operations on December 8–9, 2025, in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, to review progress on joint initiatives and deepen cooperation on development projects across member and partner countries.
Hosted by the Arab Gulf Programme for Development (AGFUND), the meeting brought together senior officials and experts from all ACG member institutions. Delegates assessed ongoing programmes, identified new areas for collaboration, and set priorities aimed at accelerating sustainable development.
Key discussions centred on strengthening joint financing mechanisms, promoting innovation in development cooperation, and advancing climate resilience and social programmes aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Participants also reviewed outcomes from virtual meetings held on November 27 with the Green Climate Fund and the Regional Center for Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency, part of efforts to expand partnerships that support shared objectives.
The agenda featured updates on several major initiatives, including the Abdlatif Y. Al-Hamad Development Award in the Arab World, the Prince Talal International Prize for Human Development, and the Group’s Advisory Report outlining future strategic directions. Members also reflected on highlights from ACG’s 50th Anniversary Celebration held in October in Washington, D.C.
Representatives emphasised the need for enhanced solidarity, knowledge-sharing, and coordinated action to address global challenges and reinforce the Group’s collective impact.
The meeting’s outcomes will guide the next phase of ACG’s efforts to strengthen partnerships, advance innovative financing models, and promote sustainable development worldwide.
