APC to Launch Tinubu’s Campaign in Kaduna October 24

By Ayomide Otitoju

The All Progressives Congress (APC) will begin its presidential campaign in Kaduna on October 24, 2026, ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The Director-General of the APC Presidential Campaign Council, AbdulAziz Yari, disclosed this on Friday while briefing State House correspondents in Abuja after meeting President Bola Tinubu at the Presidential Villa.

Yari, a former governor of Zamfara State, said Tinubu had approved the proposed campaign schedule, including visits to states across the country.

“The inaugural meeting is going to be done on the 14th of this month; that’s next Wednesday, at the State House Banquet Hall, and by God’s grace, on the 24th of October, we’re going to do our flag-off campaign in Kaduna,” Yari said.

He added that the president had approved the proposed itinerary for the party’s campaign activities.

“We have outlined our state visits to each and every place where we will go, and the president has approved them. So, we are going to hit the ground running by the 24th of October,” he said.

Yari listed Maiduguri, Borno State, and Port Harcourt, Rivers State, among the destinations on the campaign schedule.

He said the full itinerary would be made public after the inauguration of the APC Presidential Campaign Council.

On the 2027 presidential election, Yari expressed confidence in Tinubu’s re-election prospects and dismissed the chances of opposition figures, including African Democratic Congress (ADC) chieftain Atiku Abubakar and Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) figure Peter Obi.

He argued that securing support across both northern and southern Nigeria would be crucial to winning the presidential election.

“Even if you have control of 80 per cent of the south, if you don’t have anything in the north, you cannot make it. If you have 80 per cent of control of the north, if you don’t have any state in the south, you cannot make it, and that’s what it is,” Yari said.
